Say hello to Trumbie – our beautiful, gentle Shetland pony. At more than 30 years old, she’s a true elder of the paddocks and a favourite among visitors. You’ll find her up in the top paddock, just beyond the alpacas, enjoying a peaceful life in the sunshine.
Meet Augustine and Freda – our adorable alpacas with curious eyes and soft, woolly coats. They arrived at Little Forest in January 2011 and have been charming guests ever since. Gentle and friendly, these two love a quiet pat and can often be found grazing near the top paddock, keeping a watchful eye on Trumbie.
Jasper and Phantom trotted into Little Forest in 2017 and quickly became part of the family. These lovely ponies are full of personality and have settled in beautifully with Trumbie, Augustine, and Freda. Whether they’re grazing in the paddock or trotting about together, they’re always a joy to watch.
While our animals love your company, please don’t feed them – they’re on a special feeding schedule to keep them happy and healthy. However, you're very welcome to join our staff at feeding time and get involved in the daily rhythm of life on the farm.
Little Forest is also home to an abundance of native wildlife. Keep your eyes peeled for bowerbirds, vibrant parrots, and tiny blue wrens flitting through the trees. As night falls, you may spot rabbits darting about and, if you're lucky, even a wombat, wallaby, kangaroo, or fox passing through.
Being a true farm stay, you’ll also share the land with frogs, spiders, and other insects, especially around the cottages. In the warmer months, it’s not uncommon to see a red-bellied black snake soaking up the sun – they’re a natural part of our ecosystem, so please admire them from a safe distance.
