1 Living Area | 1 Dining Area

The open-plan kitchen, dining, and lounge area creates a relaxed communal space with plenty of natural light. French doors open to outdoor terraces and lush lawns, making it easy to enjoy meals or morning coffee with the fresh air and views of the Waikato River. Inside, the lounge provides a cosy spot to gather, unwind, and take in the peaceful surroundings.

Originally built by the South Australian government in the 1920’s as one of the fifteen carriages to travel between SA and VIC, and later suffering fire damage to its front end, Angas has in the years since been carefully remodelled and restored into a unique accommodation. From the polished woodwork to the narrow corridor running the length of the carriage, the character of its past journeys remains. Today, it offers guests the rare chance to experience railway history first-hand—while enjoying all the comforts of modern living.
